Appearances
I was driving home today and noticed all the houses for sale, and was kind of idly thinking. Thinking about how important appearances are. How it's important that your house and your car look well put together and tidy. If not, things are assumed about you. Everything has to be in order. And there must always be an ever-present aura of control. I think confidence and control are the key. It sucks for those of us who are a bit under confident or not always in control as best we should.
The disappointing part is that in coming to realize that, I also came to this comfortable understanding that there are fake things and fake people in the world and as long as they're trying so hard to be fake, they generally won't be happy. You can't be happy when you aren't yourself.. Can you?

Shoe time.
It's about that time of year that we need to start buying new shoes for Corbin. He's outgrowing the ones he has, and even though they're adorable Yo Gabba Gabba ones.. I'd rather him have shoes that fit comfortably. Now it's a matter of finding the right brand, size and price. Dansko shoes has some really cute shoes for all sizes of adults but I don't see any kids shoes there. Maybe they don't make them or maybe I'm looking in the wrong area. Either way.. it's time to buy shoes again. Ugh.

Reservations~
So with the talk of vacations, rvs and trips... here's some talk about Westgate Reservations! I thought it would be cool to go searching around and see some of the places that we could go. Isn't it always fun to just imagine where you could go if you were rich? Maybe I'm just a weirdo who likes doing that. But I have a great time thinking of where I could go, and what I could do if I had a bunch of money!

Corbin’s songs…
Corbin likes to run around the house and sing. I encourage this and love this behavior about him, but some of the songs he sings are just so funny..
"I'm a gummy bear.. I'm a gummy bear.. I'm a... I'm a... I'm a gummy bear..."
Or he'll sing "Hungry, Hungry Hippos!" except it'll be "Hungry, hungry CORBIN". He finds it to be the most hilarious thing ever. That and there's a song he learned at daycareSCHOOL (he refuses to let us call it daycare) that I've heard him sort of singing.. Something about clap, clap, clap and then later on "in our lap, lap, lap".. I don't really know because he'll only mumble it. But it sounds cute!

RV time!
It's summer time, which means it's the time of camping trips and cross-country excursions. I know a few friends who are out on camping trips right now (HAVE FUN GUYS!) and one who's taking a twelve hour train ride to hang out with a buddy of his. I think it'd be really fun to go take a rv and go camping. Or take a road trip down to see Dad, then a bunch of other friends along the way. It would be so much fun to drive around in one of those huge things.

SSI
So there are a few people I know that have been on social security disability types of unemployment. They have medical issues that are bad enough to require them to stay home. So they go through companies sometimes, to help them figure out how to best fill out the paperwork they need, so that they get the money they need to live on. Companies like allsup.com have a 98% success rate.. meaning they work very hard to put the money in the hands of the people who need it. It's always good to see people working hard to help other people.

Saving money..
The way the economy is so borked right now, it's hard to save money. Some people have gone hardcore green, in an effort to lower electricity bills.. others have taken to riding their bikes.. and still others just find ways to make their purchases cheaper when they have to. Purchasing things for wholesale instead of retail is one of those ways. You can buy directly from the manufacturer and get things for a lot cheaper than you would in the stores. It's really a very neat way to shop, if you ask me.

Funny…
I hate fishing. I really do. I don't have the patience to sit outside, by a lake, and throw a line at a body of water and wait for a fish to bite. I don't find it relaxing. I don't find it peaceful. I find it annoying and a waste of my time. This isn't to say that I understand why other people do it.. it's just not the same for me.
What I find funny is that as little patience as I have, I find myself fishing in WoW. Just sitting, casting my line, and waiting to get a fish. And I somehow find this amusing. It's so silly. But the fact that I can sit here and write at the same time is what makes it worthwhile. I'm pretty much the biggest multitasker ever. I can easily do ten things at once, but I can't do one thing at a time.

PS3
As much of a gamer as I am, I don't have any consoles right now. I've had an XBOX, Gamecube, a Wii (oh I guess we still have the Wii but it isn't set up) and Jeremy had an Xbox360 in the house at one point. But right now we have no active console. It's kind of sad. I miss it a little. I've looked at a PS3 but all I can think of is how they could get broken. Agh, damn me for having a 3 year old. He would have so much fun... until he broke it. ;P Maybe when he's older...

Get listed!
I remember way back when I started my first website ever. It was a small little conglomeration of lots of little things I found interesting. I worked with a page editor and was so super proud of myself for getting it set up. I didn't have many friends who were into web 'design', but I managed to find my way around to a bunch of internet web directorys and got myself listed there. Beyond that, I linked to a ton of people and they eventually found their way back to me. I ended up turning that small site into a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fansite, which later I closed because.. well.. I just wasn't a fansite-running type of girl. But I did carry my networking over to my blog (it wasn't Sleepless Nights back then!) and made sure to get myself listed in any web directory I could! It made me a lot of friends and got really cool people interested in my website. I mean, I just talked about boring things in my life and people would come and read and comment. It was so neat! I'll always remember fondly the other things that worked as make-shift web directories.. The linkboards, plugboards... All of that. It seems so silly to be so nostalgic over a web design era in my life, but it was such a 'cute' time. I kind of miss it.
