Cell phone

Posted by Stacy

I love my cell phone. I am probably bordering on text addiction. I text so much but hardly ever have phone conversations. Between Corbin, busy schedules and my friends - we all end up using Ventrilo to talk and chit chat but we all have nice little cell phones. I have one friend who obsesses about reading the latest cell phone reviews. He loves to read all of the different reviews and learn about new products and the new features of phones. I always call him a nerd for loving them so much, but I like to read them too. Shh, don't tell!

The importance of health insurance

Posted by Stacy

With all the global health care information that is floating around recently, it's easy to get confused. What makes NC health insurance different than TX health insurance? I won't touch on my political opinion on whether or not their should be world health insurance but there is a difference per company. I know that when I was a kid, I had this awesome insurance plan. I ended up having to have spinal surgery (80 thousand dollars) and ankle surgery (20 thousand dollars) and didn't have to pay much of a co-pay if memory serves. Now, however, my copay is silly and everything is over-priced. Either that or I'm much more acutely aware of cost as I pay for mine and my son's things. Anyways, it's always good to look into the differences.

Furniture

Posted by Stacy

With moving to Texas, it meant we got some new furniture because we simply couldn't pack up all of our furniture and bring it down. It just wasn't feasible. So, of course, when you have to shop for things, you start looking at the most modern furniture out there and daydreaming. Looking at beds that I would love if I had the space, couches I really want when I have a bigger house - things like that. I think it's always nice and healthy to dream, aspire and think about what things you'd hope for in your future. It gives you some really hard and fast goals to look forward to.

Feeling really proud.

Posted by Stacy

When I decided to buy the car that I have now, which is bought through "family", more or less, I started to look into online insurance quotes. Texas state law (and I think every state?) dictates that every vehicle owner must have car insurance so off I went to look them up. There are so many great resources for finding inexpensive insurance quotes over the internet, it's really amazing. I was impressed at the sheer amount of information thrown at me. I'm so proud that I have a car and that I have insurance, even if I have to pay back on it. I really feel like it got the ball rolling in a more positive direction in my life.

I know that a car isn't necessarily the most important thing in the world, but it does give you a very definitive feeling of freedom. You can drive yourself everywhere that you want to go, without inconveniencing others. That's what makes me so happy. I also have the ability to help others with my van. I can drive my co-workers home on my way home after work. I can drive my son to school. I can drive my Mother to get groceries, which we will be doing tomorrow!

All of this, and I am just proud.

Insanity.

Posted by Stacy

I had something I wanted to blog about a couple of days ago and now I can't remember. Now that I actually have the time and energy to sit down and create a decent blog post, I have nothing to say! I could talk about how I'm in my 3rd unit of College Comp II and Visual Basic and how Visual Basic is giving me fits. I could talk about how I am a great essay writer, except that I flub up the thesis statements. I could talk about how learning Visual Basic is just downright bizarre after being a web designer for so long. Code, then define the interface, then hope it works. It took me a full year to learn HTML. Is it really going to take 10 units for me to understand Visual Basic? I don't know. Especially not when my Professor spends 20-30 minutes of a one hour class going over how to zip files. Blergh. I'll get through it, I hope. With a good grade to boot, please!

Roof racks

Posted by Stacy

I have a "Mom van" now. It's my vehicle and I use it to drive everywhere. So, yakima roof racks may not be in my plans but, as always, they are fun to look at. It's an interesting way of attaching a rack to the roof of your vehicle and would be really nice and helpful if I were hauling like, bikes or things that I could easily tie down to my roof. I have seen quite a few roof racks on other SUV-type vehicles though. I even saw one person with a roof rack on his little Trans-am-like car. It wasn't a Trans-am but it was a smaller, compact car like that. He was hauling his bike on top of it!

Droopy eyelids

Posted by Stacy

Because of Corbin's droopy eyelids, he looked like he is perpetually sleepy because he looks like he has a dark circle under his eyes. He's not! I swear! He gets more than enough sleep every day. He eats well. He's just got funny eyes. I wish people understood that. When he gets actually tired, they look even worse! I feel kind of bad for him but hopefully he'll 'grow into' his eyes?

Apidex? No adipex!

Posted by Stacy

I keep reading the term adipex side effects as apidex. I swear, it's like temporary dyslexia or something. Anyways, that link goes to a website that shares the side effects of adipex and what you, as the consumer, should always know. You should really do your research when it comes to taking any kind of pill because they could have some really good or really bad side effects that you'd be surprised about otherwise!

Wash yo face

Posted by Stacy

Corbin has the luxury of not having hit puberty yet so he has no use for an acne facial cleanser, but man - I have to get on his butt to make sure he washes his hands and face all the time. Those areas get so dirty throughout the day, especially with his eating habits. It'll be nice when washing his hands and face just comes as second nature to him, but until then after very meal all he's going to hear is "Go wash your hands and face!"

Blinds are a blessing

Posted by Stacy

For the longest time, the duplex I lived in had no .window blinds. This and the multitude of children roaming around aimlessly made me really wary of even sitting in the living room in my pajamas. I would hide out in my bedroom where I had a curtain up and hang out and just relax with Corbin. We had the same stuff in my bedroom as in the living room so why would I need to go out in the living room where people could see my gasp pajamas?
